The Art of Fashion Draping (Level 1)

What is draping? Draping is an important part of a fashion designers’ development in Fashion. By taking fabric, folding, cutting and pinning it to the mannequin she or he gets a feel for how the design will look & how the fabric will move.

In this course we will learn an important part of the fashion design process; the art of draping! Each student will be provided with their own miniature mannequins as well as a mystery assortment of fashion fabrics. The aspiring fashion designers will learn how to pin and drape the fabric on the mannequins to show off their designs in 3-dimensional form! The class will also teach how to design and render different styles and fabrics, fashion vocabulary, and what it means to be a fashion designer. The end goal is to create a runway-ready fashion line!
